Since winter 2022 we have led US government and vendor sectors in early, proactive, and significant insight and intelligence about Russia, its military and banking supply chains, and its likely and then confirmed use of US GPS signal from Colorado Springs, CO to attack helpless citizens in the Ukraine - targeting them as citizens: our GPS is far too accurate to say any of these attacks were accidental.
Is the Experian - Russian Government partnership worse than a data breach? What does it mean for the safety and security of US financial data and the 225 million US citizens impacted?
Experian and Interfax are partners in a joint venture that provides consumer credit reports in Russia. Under the joint venture, Russia's largest bank, Sberbank, holds a 50% stake, while Experian and Interfax each hold 25%.But Sberbank has been under US, UK, and sanctions since 2022; and Interfax is a Russian news agency based in Moscow.
What is a UK-based credit bureau with control over 225 million US credit accounts and intimate knowledge of our bank accounts, personal data, employer data, etc; doing partnered with two sanctioned Russian Government entities? Does it not have a conscience? Why have the UK and US governments allowed this partnership to continue despite the Ukraine war?
Isn't Experian Large Enough to Know Better?
Experian is the largest credit bureau in the United States, holding credit information for more than 220 million consumers. Experian is also one of the world's largest credit bureaus, with information on more than 1.5 billion consumers and 201 million businesses. How can Experian hold US - or any other - citizens 'accountable' for any level of purported financial or fiduciary responsibility, if Experian itself partners with the Russian Government throughout the Ukraine humanitarian crisis? And even before this, surely Experian knew that Russia challenged US national security and defense, and that Interfax was a propaganda tool for Putin, and Sberbank - per the UK Government - was one of the backbone entities of the entire Russian economy?
What and Who Russia targets; information or sales it desires; who cooperates and who says No is valuable intelligence for US and NATO agencies and militaries. But there is also a Constitutional 'duty to protect' US citizens and businesses from malicious foreign governments ..
Any US citizen or business harmed on US soil for reporting, or refusing to ignore or participate in, sanctions, fraud, or War Crime-related activities should have the same 'full force & protection of the United States Government,' on US soil as we would if we were outside the US, including:
The US and other national sanctons and SDN lists only tell a small portion of the story behind Russia's invasion of the Ukraine and quest for global natural gas and resource dominance in the Euro-Asia region, and the robust economic and industrial networks that encapsulate the world like tree roots, to support Putin.
Even here in the US National Capital Region, Russian-controlled fuel, energy, business and manufacturing entities thrive - sometimes under open but ignored SEC or EPA registrations, sometimes under false, "Made in America' dbas. We help clients find and terminate them.
